Near Dwejra Bay Dwejra, Gozo, San Lawrenz, Malta the natural arch of the Azure Window can be seen. Two limestone sea caves collapsed and formed the distinctive landmark. This limestone is the oldest rock found on the Maltese islands and is strongly subjected to erosion which causes the arch to disintegrate. Large pieces of rock have begun to fall from its underside and it is estimated that in a few years the arch will come undone completely.
