Anton Cajetan Adlgasser (1729 Niederachen/Inzell - 1777 Salzburg) studied with Johann Ernst Eberlin and later became not only his musical successor but also his son-in-law. The house he lived in still stands opposite Mozart's house in the Getreidegasse. He was also friends with W.A. Mozart, who served as a witness at his three successive weddings. The composition ''Schuldigkeit des Ersten Gebots'' linked him to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joh. E. Eberlin. The musical example belongs to a series of works known as the five Regensburger symphonies. They were written after a trip to Italy in 1764/65, which explains their close imitation of the Italian opera symphony (E. Stadler) Picture: Archbishop's church with its high towers; on the left, a part of the Residence Palace; on the right, a part of the Benedictine monastery of St. Peter. !Sound Clip [{Audio src='Wissenssammlungen/Musik-Lexikon/Komponisten/Adlgasser, Anton Cajetan/080111am.mp3' caption='Anton Cajetan Adlgasser: Sinfonia A\\© mit freundlicher Genehmigung von HR Dr. Werner Rainer, Hochschulbibliothek Mozarteum'}] [{Metadata Suchbegriff='' Kontrolle='Nein'}] %%language [Back to the Austrian Version|Wissenssammlungen/Musik-Lexikon/Komponisten/Adlgasser, Anton Cajetan|class='wikipage austrian'] %%
