Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts war Orebić Orebić, Croatia ein Zentrum des südkroatischen Schiffahrtswesen, kontrolliert vom Stadtstaat Ragusa, dem heutigen Dubrovnik. Die Häuser der Kapitäne der hier ansässigen Reedereien dominieren noch heute das Ortsbild. Und wer mit dem Auto nach Korčula will, kommt nicht an Orebić vorbei.

In the middle of the 19th century, Orebić Orebić, Croatia was a center of South Croatian shipping. It was controlled by the city-state of Ragusa, now Dubrovnik. The houses of the captains of the resident shipping companies still dominate the townscape today. And those who want to drive to Korčula can not avoid Orebić.
