Oesterreichische Zeitung, daily newspaper published by the Soviet 
occupying power from April 15, 1945 until July 31, 1955 in Vienna with 
the subtitle "Frontzeitung fuer die Bevoelkerung 
Oesterreichs" ("Front newspaper for the Austrian 
Population"), from August 23, 1945 "Zeitung der Roten Armee 
fuer die Bevoelkerung Oesterreichs" ("Newspaper of the Red 
Army for the Austrian Population"). The paper provided 
information on activities of the military administration, represented 
Soviet politics and gave information about life in the Soviet Union.
