Acham, Karl, b. Leoben (Styria), Nov. 15, 1939, social 
scientist, historian. Since 1974 professor at the Department of 
Sociology of the University of Graz. Visiting professor at numerous 
universities (e.g. in Germany, Canada, China and Brazil). Since 1982 
editor of the publication "Klassische Studien zur 
sozialwissenschaftlichen Theorie, Weltanschauungslehre und 
Wissenschaftsforschung". Awarded the Austrian Decoration for 
Science and Art in 2000.
