Achen Valley (Achental), Tyrol, first documented in 1120, stretches 
north from Lake Achensee to Achen Pass with the municipalities of 
Achental and Achenwald; was a salt trade route from the Hall mines 
until the 19th century; now an area of biseasonal tourism.
