Albert, Barbara, b. Vienna, Sept. 22, 1970, director, 
producer. 1989-1991 studied theatre, journalism and German studies in 
Vienna; further studies at the Vienna Film Academy. Founded the 
company Coop 99 in 1999; since then independent filmmaker. Her film 
"Nordrand" (1999) won a number of prizes (including the Best 
First Feature Award); she received further awards at the Krakow 
International Short Film Festival 1997 (for "Die Frucht deines 
Leibes") and at the Los Angeles Film Festival 1999 (for 
"Sonnenflecken").
