Alcatel Austria AG, Vienna, established 1884 as "Czeija & Nissel", 
since 1987 part of the international Alcatel Alsthom group. Alcatel 
develops, produces, sells and exports products in the fields of office 
communication, public and private telecommunications networks and 
transport automation. 14% of its annual revenues (approx. ATS 
4.2 bn in 1993) is invested in research and development. 2300 
employees.
