Alpen Strassen AG, joint-stock company formed by the merger of Arlberg 
Strassentunnel AG  Arlberg Road Tunnel and Brenner Autobahn AG ( 
Brenner) in 1993 (then abbreviated to ASTAG); shareholders are  
ASFINAG and the Provinces of Tyrol and Vorarlberg; share capital is 
ATS 600 million. Its tasks include the maintenance and 
administration of the Brenner motorway (A 13) and the 
Arlberg-Schnellstrasse road (S 16) as well as the collection of  
tolls.
