b. Lucerne (Switzerland), July 9, 1929, 
d. Vienna, April 3, 1978, author of essays and poetry. Studied 
politics, 1949 became acquainted with H. C.  Artmann and the circle 
associated with the literary magazine "New Paths" ("Neue Wege"). In 
the post-war period representative of "debris poetry" 
("Truemmerlyrik"); in his later work absurd-grotesque elements 
prevail.
