Amazonentheater (Amazon Theater), theater run exclusively by women, 
proven to have existed in the 16th century in Tyrolean convents. 
Comparable to the events of the Weiberfastnacht (night when the women 
assume control) during carnival season, e.g. in Wilten (Tyrol), and 
the women's Volkstheater in Buechsenhausen near Innsbruck in the 19th 
century.
