Ankogel Mountain Range, provinces of Salzburg/Carinthia, mountain 
group in the Hohe Tauern mountains, includes Ankogel mountain (3,246 
m) and the Hochalmspitzgruppe mountains (Hochalmspitze 3,360 m, 
and the Gross-Elend-Kees as the largest glacier); area explored after 
the initial ascent of Ankogel mountain (1762) and Hochalmspitze peak 
(1859); Ankogel aerial ropeway from Mallnitz.
