b. Vienna, Nov. 22, 1937, musicologist, university professor in 
Vienna, co-founder of the Austrian Society of Musicology, of which he 
became president in 1991. Has published works on Austrian music 
history (esp. about music at the Imperial Court in Vienna, the baroque 
and the Biedermeier periods).
