Appelt, Ingo, b. Innsbruck (Tirol), Dec. 11, 1961, bobsleigh 
driver, jewellery designer and politician (Austrian Freedom Party, 
FPOe). Nine-time Austrian bobsleigh champion, triple European 
champion, triple World Cup winner, and gold medal winner at the 1992 
Olympic Games in Albertville in the four-man bobsleigh event (with 
Harald Winkler, Gerhard Haidacher and Thomas Schroll); afterwards 
withdrew from active sports. Since 1999 member of the Landtag of 
Tirol.
