d. Vienna, Aug. 25, 1987, geographer. 1968-1983 professor at the 
Geographical Institute of the University of Vienna, 1969-1985 director 
of the Institute of Cartography at the Austrian Academy of Science. 
Publications include agricultural geography, geomorphology, 
cartography, and regional geography.
