b. Vienna, Sept. 4, 1795, 
d. Vienna, Dec. 9, 1867, manufacturer, wholesaler, art collector; 1819 
took over his father´s textile business in Vienna, set up 
subsidiaries in Pest (Budapest), Milan and Rome and 1826 a trading 
company in Leipzig. 1837 co-founder of the Lower Austrian 
Craftsmen´s Association. Promoted the development of independent 
design in Vienna. As an art collector initiated the establishment of 
the Austrian Art Association in 1850. After his death his collection 
of paintings was auctioned.
