b. Voecklabruck (Upper Austria), May 6, 1880, 
d. Voecklabruck (Upper Austria), Sept. 24, 1962, author of music 
literature, teacher, Bruckner expert; after his retirement in 1915 
devoted most of his time to pursuing his  Bruckner studies. Published 
Anton Bruckner´s collected letters in 1924, founded the 
International Bruckner Society in 1927, initiated the complete 
edition, revised the Bruckner monograph by A. Goellerich (1937, 
reprinted several times).
