Austriacism, term usually used in the plural (sometimes in a falsely 
pejorative way) describing unique characteristics of colloquial 
Austrian German which are also typical of many Austrian writers 
(including F. Grillparzer, H. von Hofmannsthal, A. Wildgans, J. 
Weinheber, H. von Doderer) but not of the general, standard 
German language; the use of these words and expressions is correct in 
standard, written Austrian German.  Austrian German.
