d. Hanover-Herrenhausen (Germany), June 7, 1985, cultural journalist, 
arts festival director. 1937-1945 head of a college for interpreters, 
later head of the press agency of the  Bregenz Festival, 1952-1982 
intendant of the Bregenz Festival (1980 inauguration of the new 
festival theatre with its integrated stage on Lake Constance); from 
1982 director of the Palace Festivals at Herrenhausen.
