Miniature Golf, generic term for all types of golf played in miniature 
facilities, such as minigolf, distinguished by the surface played on, 
by the length of the course and the obstacles; commercial facilities 
in Austria since the 1950s, both a leisuretime and competitive 
activity. In 1993, the Austrian Miniaturegolf Association 
(Oesterreichischer Bahnengolf-Verband, OeBGV) comprised 87 
associations with 5,482 members.
