People´s Party (OeVP). 1980-1995 managing director of the 
pharmaceutical company "Lannacher Heilmittel GmbH", 1991-1994, 1996 
and 1999-2000 member of the Nationalrat; 1994/95 Staatssekretaer to 
the Minister of the Public Economy and Transport, 1995-96 Minister of 
the Environment, 1996-2000 Minister of the Environment, Youth and 
Family, since 2000 Minister of Economic Affairs and Labour, President 
of the Austrian Fund for Children With Cancer.
