!!!Bartsch, Rudolf Hans

b. Graz (Styria), Feb. 11, 1873, 
d. St. Peter near Graz (Styria), Feb. 7, 1952, officer and writer. 
From 1908 writer of novels and narratives where "old" Austria is often 
represented sentimentally. His novel "Schwammerl", about 
Schubert´s life, became one of the most popular books before 
World War II, and inspired H. Berte 1916 to compose the operetta 
"Dreimaederlhaus" (Britain: "Lilac Time", USA: "Blossom Time") which 
was adapted for the screen. In 1927 T. Lessing published his biography 
"R. H. B. "Ein letztes deutsches Naturdenkmal" ("R. H. B. A 
Last German Monument of Nature").
