Bauer, Josef, b. Wels (Upper Austria), Dec. 1, 1934, 
sculptor. 1956-1964 studied painting at the Kunstschule der Stadt Linz 
(now University of Art and Industrial Design in Linz); sculptor since 
1965. Participated in the exhibition "Objekte. Skulptur in 
Oesterreich nach 45" ("Objects. Sculpture in Austria after 
1945") in 2001. Awarded the Culture Prize of the Province of 
Upper Austria in 1995.
