b. Bologna (Italy), 1675, 
d. Vienna, March 4, 1735, civil engineer (theatres), decorative 
painter, architect; after working in Melk (1703) "Castra doloris" for 
Emperors Leopold I (1705) and Joseph I (1711); 1708 
successor to L. O.  Burnacini as theatre architect at the Court 
in Vienna, constructed the Kaerntnertortheater (now Hotel Sacher) and 
by 1710 decorated four court opera houses; main work: frescoes in the 
large auditorium of the Lower Austrian Country House in Vienna (1710); 
after 1711 worked as a painter in Lower Austria (Melk, Maria Taferl), 
Upper Austria (Monastery in Lambach, Linz) and Salzburg (Maria Buehel 
near Salzburg).
