Berg, Lower Austria, municipality in the district of Bruck an der 
Leitha; alt. 154 m, pop. 648, area 9.46 km%%sup 2/%, main 
border crossing point between Austria and Slovakia, lying on the 
Bundesstrasse 9 (through road to Bratislava). Agriculture and 
wine cultivation; customs office and branch offices of haulage agents 
at the border crossing; commerce (fruit and vegetables, chemical 
products); leisure centre. Until 1996 was part of the municipality of 
Wolfsthal-Berg. Parish church of St. Anna (1789). Ruins of 
Pottenburg Castle, documented 1240.
