journalist and politician of the Austrian People´s Party (OeVP). 
1973-1975 director-general of the Austrian broadcasting 
corporation´s (ORF) studios in Lower Austria, 1976-1980 national 
executive director of the OeVP, 1979-1990 member of the Nationalrat, 
1980-1987 political director of the OeVP parliamentary party, 
1990-1994 ORF secretary-general, 1994-1998 director-general of the ORF 
studios in Styria.
