!!!Bernardis, Robert

b. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Aug. 7, 1908, 
d. Berlin-Ploetzensee (Germany), Aug. 8, 1944 (executed). Officer, 
from 1928 in the Austrian army, joined the circle around C. Schenk von 
Stauffenberg in spring 1944 which planned a coup against Hitler; on 
July 20, 1944 he gave order to the reserve troops to launch operation 
"Walkuere" which was to start the rebellion.
