d. San Francisco (USA), April 2, 1953, pedagogic expert, 
psychoanalyst; attempted to find evidence in the natural and social 
sciences which would support S.  Freud's theories in order to develop 
a marxist-psychoanalytical theory of education; established the 
central organization of Jewish youth groups in Austria and the Jewish 
Pedagogical Institute in Vienna; founded the Baumgarten 
Children´s Home in Vienna; 1937 emigrated to San Francisco.
