d. Buffalo (USA), June 12, 1972, biologist. 1934 habilitation in 
theoretical biology in Vienna, after 1945 appointed head of the 
Zoological Institute in Vienna and from 1949 worked at different 
universities in the USA and Canada, especially exploring the field of 
psychosomatics. Founder of systems analysis.
