Seizure, the act of an authority temporarily taking possession of 
evidence, dangerous objects or substances (e.g. drugs) or money 
received in compensation for criminal acts. The objects seized will 
not be returned if they are subject to forfeiture or if they are 
potentially dangerous, e.g. syringes seized from drug-addicts. 
Material seized under copyright law which serves the unauthorised use, 
distribution or reproduction of copyrighted material may be destroyed 
or rendered unusable.
