Bielerhoehe, Vorarlberg/Tyrol, alt. 2,037 m, pass in the district of 
Gaschurn between Gross- and Kleinvermunt, i.e. between the Ill 
(Montafon) and Trisanna (Paznaun) valleys, divides the Verwall from 
the Silvretta group. The bleak high mountain region became attractive 
to tourists with the opening of the Silvretta reservoir of the 
Illwerke (built in 1943, the dam wall is 432 m long and 80 m high) and 
the construction of the Silvretta-Hochalpenstrasse motorway (1954, 54
