b. Vienna, April 28, 1915, journalist, husband of Freda  Meissner-Blau 
1956-1967 member of the Austrian Federation of Trade Unions (OeGB), 
1962-1967 editor-in-chief of the business periodical "Arbeit und 
Wirtschaft", 1967-1970 editor-in-chief of the  "Arbeiterzeitung" 
newspaper, then cultural attache in Paris until 1972. 1972-1979 
research director at the Institute of Social Politics and head of the 
department of environmental affairs at the Chamber of Labour.
