!!!Bocksberger, Johann Melchior

b. Salzburg, between 1525 and 1535, 
d. Regensburg (Germany), 1587, son of Johann  Bocksberger the Elder. 
From 1560 worked in Salzburg and Southern Germany (Augsburg, Munich, 
Ingolstadt, Passau, Landshut, Regensburg). At Trausnitz castle 
(Landshut) he painted frescoes on walls and ceilings (1579). His 
fresco "David and Goliath" at the Goliath house at Regensburg was 
later partly altered.

!Further works
Hunting scenes, battle paintings. His illustrations of 
the Bible and of Livius' works were used as models for wood engravings 
by J. Ammann, 1564-1570.
