(until 1998 under the name Bender + Co GesmbH), headquarters in 
Vienna, subsidiary of the international group Boehringer Ingelheim. 
Focuses, on the one hand, on research and development, predominantly 
in the field of oncology, the biotechnological development and 
production of drugs, and the sale of Boehringer Ingelheim products in 
Austria, and on the other hand on marketing pharmaceuticals for use in 
human and veterinary medicine, and on developing the Central and 
Eastern European market for Boehriger pharmaceuticals. Sales in 1999: 
appr. ATS 1.7 billion; staff appr. 500.
