b. Kostrzyn, Poland (then Kuestrin), June 10, 1914, 
d. Boeheimkirchen (Lower Austria), Aug. 29, 1996, expert on economic 
and social statistics. From 1945 professor at Vienna University, from 
1949 at the Austrian Institute for Economic Research, 1971-1981 
president of the  Austrian Central Statistical Office, where during 
his term of office the Integrated Statistical Information System 
(ISIS) was introduced.
