Vater von [Johann Christian Brand|AEIOU/Brand,_Johann_Christian] und [Friedrich August Brand|AEIOU/Brand,_Friedrich_August], die seine Kunst weiterentwickelten. Kam um 1720 nach Wien, wo sich seine Bildauffassung, allmählich vom Vorbild der Niederländer abgehend, zu einer fein abgestuften Buntheit entwickelte.
