Breit, Bert, b. Innsbruck (Tirol), July 25, 1927, composer. 
Studied in Innsbruck and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg; private 
instruction with C. Orff; 1951-1952 studied with Pierre Schaeffer in 
Paris and became interested in musique concrète; 1961-1967 
department head at Radio Tirol; since then freelance composer. His 
compositions include the theme music for the radio programme "Der 
Schalldaempfer" and film music ("Franza", "Der 
stille Ozean", "Heidenloecher", "Dorf ohne 
Maenner" and "Zug um Zug").

zur Weihnacht, 1964 (chamber music); Memento viva et mors, 1987 
(radiophony); Als ich an einem Sonntagmorgen Frau Mueller traf, 1990 
(brass quintet); Spuren, 1995 (clarinet, string quartet); Concerto for 
Viola and String Orchestra, 1996.
