Breitenau am Hochlantsch, Styria, market town in the district of Bruck 
an der Mur, alt. 607 m, pop. 2,430, area 62.41 km%%sup 2/%, 
situated in the valley of the Breitenau stream which flows into the 
River Mur/Mura between the municipality of Pernegg and the village of 
Mixnitz. - Economy dominated by  Veitsch-Radex GmbH (magnesia 
products). - In St. Jakob, Gothic-Baroque parish church (high 
altar in 1769), in  St. Erhard, Early to High Gothic pilgrimage 
church (13%%sup th/%  - 14%%sup th/%  century) with Gothic glass 
paintings.
