b. Vienna, Nov. 9, 1873, 
d. Clairemont (USA), March 5, 1946, Social-Democratic politician in 
the field of finance. From 1918 to 1993 member of the Vienna Municipal 
Council. As municipal councillor for financial affairs (1919-1932) in 
Vienna introduced a "building tax" in 1923 and laid the foundations of 
public housing construction. Was arrested during the fights of 
February 1934, after his release fled to Italy and Paris and from 
there to the USA.
