b. Dietenheim (Germany), Nov. 11, 1548, 
d. Retzhof (Styria) Oct. 14, 1616; bishop and reformer in Seckau after 
the Council of Trent. Headed almost all reformatory commissions of 
Ferdinand II 1599-1600/04 in Carinthia and in Styria, his work 
(sermon, reform of the clergy) earned him the title "Apostle of 
Styria".
