!!!Brest-Litowsk, Frieden von

Brest-Litovsk, Peace of, signed March 3, 1918, between the 
Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Germany, Bulgaria and Turkey on the one 
hand and the young Soviet Republic on the other hand. Terminated World 
War I in Eastern Europe and enabled the Central Powers to continue the 
war at the other fronts, but lapsed after the defeat of the Central 
Powers in November 1918.
