b. Haifa (Israel), Jan. 14, 1943, journalist and publisher; son of 
Gerhard  Bronner. Founded the business magazine  "trend" and the news 
magazine  "profil" in 1970 and the Viennese daily paper "Der  
Standard" in 1988; B. is also editor-in-chief and publisher of this 
paper.
