Brown Browne, Maximilian Ulysses Graf#

b. Basle (Switzerland), Oct. 23, 1705, d. Prague (Czech Republic), June 26, 1757, military commander. His Irish father was in service with the emperor from 1690. B. participated as an officer in the Polish War of Succession 1733-1736, in the Turkish War 1737-1739, in the first Silesian War 1741/42 and in the Austrian War of Succession in Bavaria in 1743; commanding general in Italy 1746-1748. Field marshal 1753, badly wounded in the battle of Prague (May 6, 1757), died in the besieged city.
