!!!Brunner, Gerhard

b. Villach (Carinthia), March 23, 1939. Studied law. political science 
and drama studies in Vienna, then worked as a journalist and writer. 
Lecturer at the Vienna Academy of Music and the Performing Arts 
(History of Dance and Culture) from 1968-70 and at the University of 
Vienna (Theory and Practice of  Dance Theatre) from 1981-87; from 
1976-90 Director of Ballet at the Vienna  State Opera, since 1990 
intendant of Vereinigte Buehnen Graz. Has founded and managed various 
dance festivals; designated to become head of ballet for the three 
major opera houses in Berlin from 2001.
