Buhl, Hermann#
b. Innsbruck (Tyrol), Sept. 21, 1924, d. Chogolisa (Pakistan), June 27, 1957, prominent alpinist. Was the first to climb the Nanga Parbat (8125 m, Himalayas) alone on July 3, 1957 and the Broad Peak (8047 m, Caracorum) together with K. Diemberger and others; fatal accident on the Chogolisa (7654 m).
