!!!Bundesgebäudeverwaltung
Federal Buildings Administration (Bundesgebaeudeverwaltung),
administrative service for all buildings and real properties owned by
the federal government. Except for Vienna, the administration of
properties in civilian use is entrusted to the Governor
(Landeshauptmann) of the province, in which the property is situated,
who exercises this delegated power (indirect federal administration)
through local Federal Buildings Administration agencies (FBA-I). The
Federal Office of Public Works of Vienna is part of the Federal
Building Administration for Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland,
which is responsible for office buildings, school and theatre
buildings, as well as the Burghauptmannschaft in Vienna (responsible
for structural alterations of the Imperial Palace and other historical
buildings) and the Federal Administration of Movables. The Federal
Building Administration II, with the central offices of Graz,
Linz-Salzburg, Innsbruck and Klagenfurt, is mainly responsible for the
administration of military buildings in the various provinces. In the
course of privatisation the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft was founded
in 1992.
