Burggrafenamt Area, South Tyrol (Italy), the Etschtal (Adige) Valley 
between Naturns (Naturno) and Bozen (Bolzano); historical centre of 
Tirol with Meran (Merano) and Castle Tirolo, from which the province 
of Tirol derives its name; fruit-growing and wine-growing area; noted 
for its castles and ancient customs (e.g. traditional clothes typical 
for the Burggrafenamt region).
