d. Vienna, Sept. 12, 1885, portraitist, painter of historical and 
genre scenes as well as studies in the style of P. P. Rubens and the 
Venetians; thus influenced characteristic colouring. Painted the 
ceiling frescoes of the Museum of Natural History in Vienna. Important 
portraitist.
