b. Scaria (Switzerland) around 1635, 
d. May 3, 1708, master builder. He was the predominant architect of 
Upper Austrian monasteries in the 17th century. He built St. Florian 
Abbey (1668-1708) and Schlierbach monastery (1680-1683), the 
pilgrimage churches at Heiligenkreuz near Kremsmuenster (1687-1690) 
and Christkindl (1706), the Aegidiuskirche church in Voecklabruck 
(1688), the Rohrbach parish church (1696-1700), the summer refectory 
in Reichersberg Abbey (1691-1695); alterations in the churches 
Baumgartenberg (around 1697) and Freistadt (around 1690), in 
Kremsmuenster Abbey (from 1669) and in the former Garsten Abbey 
(1677-1687).
