b. Prague (Czech Republic), Feb. 1, 1853, 
d. Puchberg am Schneeberg (Lower Austria), May 12, 1918, 
laryngologist; son of Johann B.  Chiari, grandfather of Karl  Chiari. 
University professor in Vienna; developed the most important operating 
methods in his field and succeeded in having the new laryngological 
clinic built in Vienna.
